Transdev wins prestigious award

Terry Scott was a proud Managing Director this morning when he told staff of the big win. ”I’m delighted at the well-deserved recognition our people have received for the hard work they put in every day ensuring that safety is always our priority. The one thing I want in this business and I think that every staff member deserves is to go home in the same state they came to work in.”

“Safety is a core value at Transdev and the fact that the business has been recognised by the Chamber of Commerce as having best-practice safety systems shows we are doing the job well.”

“Transdev celebrates staff who show extraordinary safety heroism or innovation with our Golden Safety Star Awards. This award feels like a giant Safety Star for everyone in the business, recognising that all the extra effort, care and attention is paying off,” says Terry.

Transdev Australasia has won a number of safety awards this year. CEO, Jonathan Metcalfe, was the recipient of the Safe Work Australia, Safety Ambassador of the Year Award in October.

The Safety Ambassador of the Year Award recognises an individual who leads by example to highlight the importance of a safe working environment and encourages others to improve work health and safety. The award was presented during a ceremony at the National Workers Memorial in Canberra as part of Safe Work Australia Month, an initiative that encourages all workers to get involved in health and safety in their business.

The Westpac Auckland Central Business Awards are an annual showcase of business innovation and excellence. Run by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce the awards celebrate the greater value business brings to Auckland city.

"Awards like this highlight true excellence in business and lift benchmarks for everyone," Auckland Chamber of Commerce’s Chief Executive Michael Barnett says.

Award categories will cover a range of aspects of business performance, capped off by the Supreme Business Excellence Award. Businesses that enter will help their employees to see the value of their work and celebrate their successes.

Entering the Awards has a business value of its own: it encourages you to review your performance and identify your business strengths that can lead to future growth. The Awards will also provide new benchmarks for businesses to reach for by raising the profile of the finalists and winners through recognition and media coverage.

The Awards are open to any company, no matter how large or small. Category winners will be automatically entered to compete in the Auckland regional awards.
