Rail Safety Week 2018

Rail Safety Week launched in Auckland for the first time on Monday 13 August. The annual campaign is focused on safety behaviours and awareness around the rail network. Key safety messages 'look left , look right for trains' was communicated to an audience including travel wise schools group, key stakeholders; Auckland Transport, KiwiRail, TrackSAFE and other transport bodies. A compelling warning highlighting the risks around train networks was humbly given by Karamea and Presley Matthes, the parents Of Keenan Matthes, young teenager who tragically lost his life at a Ranui level crossing.
