This week we celebrated the end of Ramadan and shared some delicious sweet treats with our colleagues who were celebrating Eid. Amjad Khan, Planning and Performance Coordinator explained why Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection and fasting is so important in the Muslim faith. We celebrated Eid across the network with baklava and Eid Al Fitr information. It was a fantastic reminder of the wonderfully diverse and inclusive workforce we have here at Transdev.

There was great news for the growth of public transport innovation and service delivery this week as Auckland Council and the Government announced that more than $28 billion is being dedicated to Auckland's transport network over the next decade. Transport Minister Phil Twyford said of the new Auckland Transport Alignment Project (ATAP) "We will be building vital projects including light rail, heavy rail and bus upgrades, safety improvements, and more dedicated cycle lanes." You can find more ATAP details in Journey Maker News. Over the next 30 years, Auckland is projected to grow by up to another 1 million people, while in the next decade nearly 55 per cent of New Zealand's population growth is expected to be in Auckland. Therefore this investment will see welcome and meaningful improvements to the network for our colleagues and customers.

You may have noticed fruit boxes were provided at all locations this Wednesday. This is to raise awareness of a wellbeing survey that the Zero Harm team will be sharing with you. The survey (and more fruit!) will go live next month at all locations. The health survey is strictly confidential and an independent report will be developed that will help Transdev set more Wellness objectives. Please help us to help you by completing the survey.

Finally we are again supporting the annual Auckland City Mission “One can - Two Can” appeal which helps make a difference to those who need it most. There are boxes at all book-ons across the network to donate cans of food and non-perishable goods which we will pass on to the City Mission. Please give generously to this worthy cause.

Ma te wa/Bye for now,

John McIver
