Transdev Committed to Safer Rail Network

Following an RMTU report back meeting held today, Transdev Managing Director, Michel Ladrak said "It is a very positive step forward for RMTU members to vote against further strike action before Christmas. Going forward, we will meet with the RMTU in January and will continue to work constructively on positive safety outcomes for all."

Last week, Transdev presented its Rail Safety Case notification to independent rail regulator the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA).

Michel Ladrak said "Having developed this plan to improve the safety of my staff and our customers, it is now time to test it against the NZTA’s strict standards. The outcome of the regulator’s review will inform our approach to Driver Door Operation (DDO) implementation. I hope the RMTU will be open minded to the facts and the rail regulator’s decision."
